My Favorite Things (Winter)

This last Christmas the girls in my family decided to do a Favorite Things gift exchange. If you’re not familiar with what this entails, check out Oprah’s shows circa late 1990’s when she began handing out her favorite things to the audience. (Oh to have been in one of those audiences…) The fun gift exchange has evolved since then, with girlfriends, book clubs, church groups, families, etc, holding their own Favorite Things event around the Holidays. I don’t know if this is as popular with men, but the boys in our family are considering their own exchange for next year. Ours was pretty simple with only four participants. We each had to purchase three of the same gift ($15-20 ea.) of our favorite thing(s). I received really nice lip gloss, a luffa, copper ring, body lotion, and a few other trinkets. It was so fun; not only shopping for a favorite thing, but receiving everyone’s faves.

So, here we are in January. The holly has been taken down, the lights have been packed away, and most Christmas gifts are being lovingly used, or to be brutally honest, returned for something better. (Ugh, I would rather not know if you returned a gift I gave you.) I thought this would be a good time to introduce my Favorite Things List, so to speak. And since my list seems to change with the seasons, I will be posting this quarterly. I’m not necessarily thrifty, nor extravagant, but I fall somewhere in between. I’m an Amazon girl for sure.

Here are some of my favorite things (with links) taken directly from my Amazon cart.

Martha Stewart Ceramic Bakeware

Ceramic Storage Bowls with lids

Ruvanti 100% Cotton Percale Sheet Set

Everyone Hand and Body Lotion

I’ve been enjoying baking lately, but not my metal baking sheets. These are safer, non toxic, and aren’t they much prettier? The storage bowls are also ceramic, safer, and can be used in all the kitchen appliances. I decided during this winter season and living in the mountains that I still prefer cool, crisp, cotton sheets, but warm pajamas are a must. Lastly, this is my favorite lotion. It comes in a few lovely scents, has a convenient pump, and won’t run out anytime soon.

I sincerely wish everyone a very Happy New Year (and not just the new part, but the whole year.) I pray peace, love, blessings and good household products over you.

With love,

Krista

Grounded in decades of lived experience, Krista brings a gentle presence and a deep understanding of the human heart to every space she creates—whether she is listening to someone’s story, offering guidance in spiritual formation, or leading creative workshops that invite people to reconnect with themselves.

Krista’s journey into soul care began more than a decade ago, when she realized she had been living within self-imposed expectations of perfection and religious performance. Exhausted and spiritually dry, she stepped into a slower, more contemplative rhythm—one marked by honesty, curiosity, and a renewed awareness of God’s presence. What she discovered transformed not only her faith, but the way she walks with others.

Today, Krista is known for her calm, compassionate voice and her ability to make people feel seen, safe, and deeply understood. Whether you’re processing grief, seeking spiritual renewal, navigating life transitions, or simply longing for a quiet place to breathe, Krista offers a space where you don’t have to have the answers—just the courage to show up as you are.

She lives in Arizona with her family and finds joy in creativity, hospitality, and the sacredness of ordinary moments.
